  1. Why should I be interested in becoming a Christian?

If you look at the beauty in the world around you and wonder how it happened and why you can see that it is beautiful, you may come to the conclusion that there is a God. If you know in your heart that there is a difference between good and evil, you may realize that the good is God's plan for how things should be. God wants us to love Him, but love cannot be forced. For that reason, God gave us free will to choose to love him or not. Evil is what happens when we choose to reject God's love. When evil happens, it can be forgiven if there is a will to make things right again. Such an action requires a sacrifice to show sincerity. The sacrifice might be a rose cut from its bush or, if the evil is great, it might be something more. In His eagerness to save us from evil, God sent part of Himself into the world, His own Son, Jesus Christ, to become human and to make the sacrifice for us that would reunite us with Him. Why should you be interested in that? Why not? [Back to the top]

  2. What should I do if I'm not sure I believe in God?

Pray for faith and stop worrying about it. God believes in you and that's what really matters. Do the things that are expected of a Christian and have faith that faith will come to you. [Back to the top]

  3. Why doesn't God give me a clear sign that He exists?

God wants you to have faith and believe. Remember the Centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant? Jesus offered to go and heal him and the Centurion said that he knew that he would be healed, if Jesus would just say the word. "When Jesus heard him, he marveled, and said to those who followed him, 'Truly, I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such faith!' " [Matthew 8:10]

And when asked for a sign, Jesus told his temptors, "This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah. For as Jonah became a sign to the men of Nin'eveh, so will the Son of man be to this generation. The queen of the South will arise at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. The men of Nin'eveh will arise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here." [Luke 11:29-32] Clearly, Jesus was a little testy with them that time, because they were being so dense. He was saying that He was the sign right in front of them and they were too stupid to see it. He refers to the sign of Jonah, who spent three days in the belly of the whale, because he would spend three days in Hell after His crucifixion (a little Jesus humor there). [Back to the top]
